Over 3000 gut microbiome samples have been collected from mothers, partners, and babies to study how maternal diet influences infant food allergies and asthma. This research highlights the microbiome's crucial role in health and immune support, noting that disruptions can lead to conditions affecting 10% of Australian children. The NEW1000 is investigating dietary impacts on the microbiome, aiming to develop treatments for healthier future generations.
